Interview: George Gor, CEO of CoinIdol Fintech News Outlet | CoinIdol

Recently, I interviewed CoinIdol’s Founder and CEO, George Gor. CoinIdol is a news outlet which focuses on delivering Bitcoin News, Price Analysis and Press Releases to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency users and enthusiasts.

George is an entrepreneur, he has 20 years experience in the media business and with his new venture, I wanted to ask him how it feels to be an entrepreneur in the world of Bitcoin. Here we go!

What made you decide that you wanted to start CoinIdol?

The answers are here. I’ve written on the “blog” section of our mass-media website: Why Did Team Leaders of CoinTelegraph Quit to Form CoinIdol.com?

What topics does CoinIdol focus on? Price? Trading? News?

We focus on all topics surrounding the development of financial technologies, Blockchain, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, usually called altcoins. We cover topics for users of cryptocurrency and Blockchain software, as well as for gigs for professional developers in the market.

What sets you aside from other news outlets?

Our goal is the popularisation of cutting edge financial technologies. So we will tend to be closer to the sector of users, who don’t know a lot about technology, but want to understand the complex details.

How did you come up with the name CoinIdol?

It was a complex job. I have 20 years in the business of brand creation. That’s how I know that brand begins from the idea.

The idea of the website is a hero, a knight that is a friend of highlander, that lives for hundreds and maybe thousand of years. He has an eternal mission, which is very good and bright, but almost impossible. He wants to find the best ever money, based on the principles of good, fairness, and equality. He wants to find the best ever coin in the universe. He wants to find the coin that is ideal for all people. The one that can be respected and admired very much.

This knight is known as CoinIdol, because of that goal. This knight is the witness of other people on the field of events around cutting edge financial technologies. He founded that media together with our team. His will is the real origin of this project.

You are one of the most successful people I’ve met, did your passion for online business start off as a hobby or something else?

I’ve been working with different international projects, in different countries around the world. You know the story of that other mass-media creation, which I left not long ago to create CoinIdol.com. I don’t like to tell a lot of details about my life outside of the crypto community. But I want to stress that I don’t have any preference in my life. I like to create and develop businesses of different kinds. I’m a professional top-manager and business developer. I’m usually hired to create a new brand. I create ideas. I think over business logic. I hire and educate staff from zero. I stabilize business processes. After that, I prefer to quit, because the system is stable and it’s no longer interesting for me.

So, I’m a happy person. Because I’m professional in doing business that I would do, even if I haven’t been paid.

Since Bitcoin is the future, who is your target audience? Teens? Adults?

As I’ve already said, our mission is to help mass adoption of new cutting edge financial technologies, including Blockchain, Bitcoin  and other cryptocurrencies. That’s why we make our stake the same way as Pepsi-Cola for the next generation. You are right. We see how children are born with the PC mounted in the cradle. 🙂 It a joke, but just partly.

That’s why our pictures attract the attention of those who love comics more than reading. We want to find the shortest way to explain a cutting edge technology. We will use other means of information transfer. But it’s a secret, what we will do as our next step.

Have you considered partnering or forming strategic alliances with others to grow CoinIdol? Who and why?

Yes. We welcome any partners that want to develop the same ideas of popularizing the best ever technologies. This can be with mass-media, as well as associations, and even Bitcoin enthusiasts and bloggers like yourself, Angus. We welcome any help and assistance and we are ready to help in return.

What do you consider your greatest success in your business ventures? Explain.

I think that my greatest success is that I’ve learned to create an absolutely decentralized model of business with international team members. I can duplicate this as many times as I or my partners want. Moreover, I create not only decentralization, but a brand strategy of idea popularization. I make businesses effective from the very first steps.

I am usually asked to help in the optimization of a business when it’s ruined or stagnated.

I’ve been working in different fields, from political management to financial services. And my skills can be applied everywhere.

Have you ever noticed Ponzi schemes before? Why do you think that Bitcoin is commonly found on Ponzi/HYIP websites?

There are a lot of scammers in all fields. If you talk about Russian entrepreneur Sergey Mavrodi, I consider him to be an evil genius. His business experience shows the real nature of humanity. People want to earn money for nothing. That is the sin, that leads them all to hell. It’s not a question of Bitcoin technology, it’s a question of ethology and ethics. It’s the DNA of human nature.

Do you believe in decentralization? Why or why not?

Yes. I do believe in decentralization. I think that the Blockchain is a kind of virus technology, that will unite all human beings in its digital network. All the processes of civilization will be digitized with a time. Most of them will be managed through a decentralized system. But… every decentralized system has its source. And this is the center. 🙂 Think about it.

How big is your team? Is it better to manage a small amount or big amount?

I used to see management as a battlefield. You don’t need a lot of people, but you need skilled people. I prefer to lead a group of 300 spartan warriors than a million peasants. But I also prefer to take goal-oriented peasants and teach them to be spartan warriors.

When you do world media you need about 20-30 people in your team maximum. Today is the 17th of August 2016. It has been 47 days since we started the new mass-media on the 1st of July. I’ve just begun my way of team creation. But I have already 12 staff members. And that will double soon.

Which cryptocurrency, other than Bitcoin do you prefer?

I don’t want to advertise to any single altcoin, because they are all interesting. I respect every initiative of new cryptocurrency creation.

Biggest challenges you have faced while running an online business?

The biggest challenge is the absence of professionals in the space. I can’t hire the specialist that can just be given money and tasks. I have to take a zero skills person and teach him to be that professional. I’ve got a university and factory of media business at the moment. 🙂

Anything else to add? (It can be anything)

I want to wish you all the best with your ventures, Angus Leung. I’m sure that we will be friends and maybe partners for a long time. I’m glad that we got acquainted with you this summer.

I have to thank CoinIdol for that. He is the hero that made it possible.
