McDonalds’ toy backfires. Fitness band recalled. | McDonalds

32 million of the now, recalled McDonalds’ known as Step-It have been distributed in North America in Happy Meals.

The reason for the recall is that there are 70 cases of skin irritation created by the toy when children wore it.

Even the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has realized the danger and are telling anyone who is using the wrist band to take it off immediately and return it to McDonalds’.

“Nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of our customers, which is why upon learning about concerns with these bands we acted swiftly to stop distribution of these toys.” stated a McDonalds spokeperson.

According to the BBC, McDonalds’ is offering a replacement toy and either a bag of apple slices or a yogurt tube if one is returned.

Distributed between August 9 and 17, the toy was supposed to be promoting healthy lifestyles and exercise by being a pedometer. They come in 3 different colors.
